Seed Strategy: 20 Years Still in the Making

in News/by mdonahue

In our recent service anniversary celebration, Susan Jones and Jeff Johns both celebrated 20 years with Seed. And, in a way, saying “service with Seed” isn’t entirely accurate—because for a while, Susan and Jeff were Seed. They were the staff. They were the brand. They were the ideas, equities and capabilities that defined what Seed would become—and still is—two decades later.

I’m proud to say I’ve been with Seed Strategy for 10 of its 20 years. Certainly, I’ve seen change. People came and went. Challenges emerged and faded. Office locations varied. And in 2014, the company’s ownership even switched hands. (Thanks, Burke! And I mean that sincerely—it’s been awesome.)

But one thing never wavered: The dream.

Susan’s dream. Jeff’s dream. A dream that we all came to share, understand, and embrace. And, according to Jeff, it’s a dream that came true.

I agree.

For me, it’s a dream that continues to unfold each day, providing fresh inspiration and new excitement. Truth be told, the specifics of what we envision for ourselves rarely manifest in the reality of what we discover in life. Yet, for all our shifting circumstances, motivations and expectations, the essence of what really matters… remains.

That’s what we still recognize, feel and appreciate, even decades later. That’s what matters. That’s what we mean, I think, when we say, “dreams come true.” And, at the end of the day, that’s what Seed—and now Burke—still is, for me and many others.

Change may come. But dreams stay dreams. Always looking forward to the next chapter.
