CLIENT CHALLENGE
A Fortune 500, global food and beverage client was interested in developing innovative products that fit the latest trends and meet consumers’ needs in fresh and exciting ways.
The team wanted to harness the collective intelligence and creative spirit of its employees to better identify and develop new innovations that solved current business problems, seeking to capitalize on future opportunities and unlock profitable growth—all in a compressed 7-week timeline.
OUR APPROACH
- Coaching “intrapreneurs”—our client’s employees—on creating compelling strategic pitches to convince company executives to “green light” their ideas for development.
- Refining and optimizing their ideas for success (identify the best brand fit, channels, varieties, and ways to make the idea bigger).
- Helping the intrapreneur teams create clear and strategic narratives that fleshed out their innovation, its supporting proof points, and potential benefits to the organization—all while balancing empathy with excellence so as not to crush the intrapreneurs spirit.
- Co-creating to develop AI-enabled, photorealistic visuals to bring the ideas to life—creating essential “seeing is believing” moments that elevated them beyond words.
- Leading each intrapreneur through the preparation and delivery of an 8-10 slide pitch deck designed to persuade senior leaders (CEO, CMO, CFO, etc.) to provide funding for their innovations.
THE OUTCOME
By teaming up with our strategists and creatives, the intrapreneurs delivered six impactful pitch decks that received applause from the client Executive Leadership Team:
- 3 innovations were fully greenlit, receiving executive backing and funding
- 2 innovations were integrated into broader innovation pipelines
- 1 intrapreneur, a recent grad and the sole external submitter, didn’t advance—but impressed the CEO enough to be offered a job on the spot
Ultimately, the three fully greenlit ideas are projected to deliver more than $100MM in incremental sales across multiple channels for the parent company.
